about us
Lorenzen Farms is a family-owned and operated farming business based in Chrisman, Illinois. Established in 1930 on an original 105-acre farm, the operation has grown through generations of hard work, strong family values, and a commitment to excellence in agriculture.
Today, Lorenzen Farms operates over 5,600 acres, including nearly 5,000 tillable acres, producing corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay while also custom farming additional acreage. Alongside its crop operation, the farm is nationally recognized for its purebred Yorkshire swine program, which has earned a reputation for producing elite genetics and record-setting livestock.
The cattle division began in 1966 with the purchase of its first registered Polled Hereford heifer. Since then, Lorenzen Farms has built a respected Hereford and Angus program focused on superior genetics, maternal quality, and performance. The herd consists of approximately 200 Hereford and Angus cows along with 40 replacement heifers. Annual offerings include a Fall Production Sale featuring elite females and an Online Bull Sale each spring showcasing top herd sires.
Now led by multiple generations of the Lorenzen family, the operation continues to combine progressive farming practices with a dedication to producing high-quality livestock. From crop production to nationally competitive cattle and swine programs, Lorenzen Farms remains committed to providing customers with exceptional genetics, outstanding service, and a legacy of agricultural excellence.
